Easter is almost here, yay to everyone that celebrates! Easter egg hunts, family time and the last of the real summer sun. If you have a ever spent Easter in Cape Town, I am sure you you have had pickled fish, it’s a Cape Malay staple at this time of year.
Now obviously a lot of us don’t want or need the nasties that go into processed yoghurt these days, so I have been waiting with very bated breath and literally searching everywhere (ask Lexi, she’ll confirm) for coconut yoghurt in South Africa. Since I had some in NYC last year, I was hooked! Imagine my excitement when I found these guys at the Waterfront (Food shed) at Yokos.
If you are having people over and want a side salad to be a bit less boring than the usual green salad, try this rainbow salad. It’s got great fats, greens, and is low in carbohydrates. It’s suitable for raw vegans, Banters, people following paleo and is just darn good for you. Add whatever salad dressing you like: but good old olive oil and balsamic vinegar is always a good bet.
