Most of us don’t get enough greens, and sometimes it is just difficult to eat greens at every meal. I generally also try to have at least one vegan meal a day (environmental & nutritional reasons). So when Superfoods sent us some products to try, I knew that this green shake mix would tick all the requisite boxes! Score!


This powder-form smoothie mix is packed with potent antioxidants like Baobab, African moringa, wheatgrass, Sprulina and hemp seed protein. These are all highly alkalising, which is so good for balancing your system.

The best part is that you can just spoon 1-2 spoons of smoothie mix and basically add whatever you like to bulk your breakfast (or snack) up. I added chia seeds, coconut water, banana, and some hemp seeds and blended it all up. I topped with a few berries. The taste is similar to a mixture of a muted wheatgrass taste and spirulina, which doesn’t bother me at all, but if you want a less “grassy” taste, just balance more fruit/veg into your smoothie.


Green shake retails for R132, but will last you quite long. Thanks to Superfoods for making good raw plant-based food easy to use!
