We were lucky enough to get invited for breakfast at the fairly new Strolla café in Sea Point, so obviously we jumped at the chance. Strolla is set only about 200m from the sea and the view from the top deck is gorgeous. This might be one of the best places to be on a balmy Saturday in summer! You can take a leisurely stroll or bicycle ride along the Sea Point promenade after breakfast and watch the waves.

The breakfast menu is simple, but has everything that you want and need from omelette to French toast or muesli and yoghurt. I started with a black Americano, they are serving Bootlegger which is always a good bet, and a fresh OJ (wonderful with just enough pulp). I had the English breakfast, but lost the toast and sausage, which they were very happy to do. The food was lovely and hot, which I always really appreciate in an eatery, and the service was attentive and fast. I think they could have more vegetarian/vegan options on their menu, but you could make do with substitutions.

They also have a fully stocked bar if you want to laze around for sundowners, and I was chatting to the barman who said they will have some DJ’s playing music on summer afternoons!
