Easter is almost here, yay to everyone that celebrates! Easter egg hunts, family time and the last of the real summer sun. If you have a ever spent Easter in Cape Town, I am sure you you have had pickled fish, it’s a Cape Malay staple at this time of year.
There is a massive vegan movement happening around the world at the moment. I think more and more people are becoming aware of the impact that the animal agriculture industry is having on the environment. Both Kyla and myself have not made the move to complete vegan lifestyle, however we both believe in minimising meat consumption and being aware of what we eat and how it affects both our bodies and the world in general.
Happy Holidays everyone! (I know it’s not holidays yet but I highly doubt I will get to post something again before I jet set off to Bali. Mmmhmmm you heard me! BALI. Yay! So that said, festive greetings are in order – and, if you are anything like me, you’ve already started planning your Christmas lunch anyway.
Summer is here, finally! It always take a bit longer to settle into the Cape, but right now, it’s glorious. That means that all a lot of us want to eat are salads, fresh food and beautiful produce. In South Africa we are so blessed to have so much choice readily available.
I have the privilege of working with Eskort doing some food styling, photography, recipe testing & development as part of their bold, adventurous and uncomplicated cooking campaign! It’s really awesome experimenting and trying out all their different products. So here and there I will be posting some of the healthier recipe options on Whisking It! :)
