Paleo Protein Bars

Word on the street is that people should have protein within the 30 minutes straight after a weights workout. It helps with muscle recovery and ensure you don’t end up injured do to tearing over-worked muscles that didn’t get the nutrients they need to recover! During a workout you end up creating “micro tears” in your muscles (apparently) and taking protein directly after a heavy workout just immediately starts sending the hormones, enzymes, cellular messengers, nucleic acids, and immune-system components that your muscles need to recover! :)

So lets get down to business. Paleo Cupcakes. Have you ever? Well maybe you have but I doubt that you have on THIS LEVEL. These guys are so good that even my very non-paleo boyfriend scoffed them down without the usual long pause and then “it tastes okay for something paleo…”. Not even the bat of an eyelid.

Paleo Brownies

So – the brownies. They are not super low-cal, so for weight loss just don’t eat the entire batch, in one sitting, by yourself ;) but they are low-carb, refined sugar free and pretty damn delicious. And they freeze super well.
